Interior Holiday Decorating Ideas for Your Home
The holidays, and Christmastime in particular, are fun for decorating your home. If you tend to get a little bored with your surroundings, you can dramatically alter your space with decorations. Today’s video shares some tips so that your home will look great rather than tacky.
First, choose a colour theme. Usually you will want to select two complimentary colours for decorating such red and gold (as shown in the video below), green and red, blue and purple, or any other colour combination that is Christmas-y.
If your are putting up a tree, make sure you choose one that is not going to either overpower the room with it’s size or, one that is not too small and disappears in the room. Place it next to the focal point of the room if possible or flank a fireplace with one tree on each side (as demonstrated in the video).

You can decorate stair banisters with garland and add some lights and ornaments to dress it up even more. Place large glass bowels or vases on coffee tables with glass ornaments inside or scented pine cones. Get some LED pillar candles to place on end tables or fireplace mantles. You can even wrap up empty boxes in Christmas paper and place them on stairs or at the front entrance.
For your kitchen, you can place pre-lit garland on the top of the shelves or even decorate window frames with pre-lit garland. Allow yourself to get creative and have some fun with it. The holidays are often busy and stressful for people so give yourself a break and have some fun with your decorating.
