How to Paint Beveled Doors in Interior Painting

One problem that DIY home renovators inquire about when it comes to painting doors on the interior of a home is the technique for painting beveled doors.  The surface isn’t flat, therefore you cannot simply use a roller to paint the whole thing.

In reality, there is no magic to it, it just takes a couple of different tools.  First, you will want to lightly sand the door to remove any flaking and dirt so that your new coat of paint will adhere properly.  Next, wipe down the door with a damp cloth to remove the dust from the sanding and then, if you cannot remove the door handle, cover it with painter’s tape.

The next step is to use a brush to paint the beveled parts of the door and then you can apply the paint to the remainder of the door with a roller.  You may also want to choose a roller that is smaller in size (about half the size of a regular roller).

Once you get your technique down, it really doesn’t take long to paint each door and you might even be able to get all the doors in your house done in one day.
